Reconstructed Remount Rd and Aviation Ave Interchanges Are Now Open along with 4 Travel Lanes In Both Directions on I-26 between I-526 and Ashley Phosphate

South Carolina Department of Transportation’s (SCDOT) Remount and Aviation Interchange Improvements Project is a part the Department’s continuing efforts to improve our state’s major transportation corridors.
This three-year, $66 million project will create the following improvements:
Reconstructed Aviation Avenue Interchange – The Aviation Avenue interchange will include a wider overpass and realigned ramps to improve traffic flow to and from I-26.
Reconstructed Remount Road Interchange – The improved Remount Road interchange will include a wider overpass, a new ramp onto I-26 Westbound and a new ramp from I-26 Eastbound.
Eight Traffic Lanes on Interstate 26between I-526 and Ashley Phosphate Road – Most of the widening in this three mile stretch will occur by replacing the grass median and cable guardrail between the east and west bound traffic with a new lane in each direction and a concrete barrier wall.
